Student Candidate forDegree from School of Mines
Kevin Mayer from Vermillion was a candidate for a degree from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology during commencement ceremonies held Dec. 20, 2008 in Rapid City. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
One finger is making things easier at some South Carolina schools. The new system scans a student’s fingerprint and instantly knows if they are able to check out library books. If they are ready, the system chimes an upbeat series of notes. If books are late, it will say “uh oh,“ or “yikes.“
